It could have been released sooner, but still this is just an awesome news.

Cool! I just might throw monies on that. Because however hard I try, I can't for the life of me make TLJ  run on my PC. A fresh IOS version should probably be stable.

How bizarre!  This wasn't announced anywhere in advance, right?

I would guess that Funcom took the opportunity afforded by Chapters to start up work on it again...anybody around these parts have inside info they'd be willing to share? Pretty please? :)

As Stormheart found and posted in another thread, there is a 1 hour gameplay video of the iOS The Longest Journey, that includes a brief introduction by Ragnar (over some beautiful concept art) :

It doesn't look very remastered to me. Looks very identical?

Or was it remastered only in my mind?

That was the impression I got too :)

The rough edges around the character models are gone and the UI got moved around and changed slightly.  ;)

I want TLJ for PC without the rough edges as well.

I think maybe April's model has a little higher polygon count as well.

Does it simply overwhelm.

Was wondering about that as well. They did not fix any of the backgrounds though or any graphical bugs that have been there since... forever. The FACT texture is still "broken" as well as the lamp post on the bridges.  :P

Edit:

Over 50 hours? Now I know this game is long, but 50 hours? No-- just... NO.

Edit 2:

I just checked the back of the Dutch 4 CD box. It says the game will take approximately 70 hours... *facepalm*

They are counting 40 hours of getting stuck in the rubber ducky puzzle!  :P  <_<

The backgrounds cannot be changed at all I think, because Ragnar has said that the original (higher quality) files are "lost" so they would have to redraw them from scratch or something.

This is true, but I think they did do some color corrections in some spots. Might just be my eyes playing tricks on me though.

Color correction is easier than actually drawing (new) stuff on them or upscaling their resolution.

My original Norwegian box states "over 50 hours", as does my nice price English release, so it must be the official estimate. Are dutch sentences that much longer, or are the Dutch supposed to be more clueless and slow than the average, international >50 hour person? :P

"I'll be back with some more thoughts about the ending and the future after you've played the game." - so, this Ragnar VO is from a developer commentary?  Neat!

Some of the voice acting is painfully slow. And just painful in general. Our hipster April with the soft voice is still great though. ;)
