Dreamfall Chapters Book One launch party!

 

Hello, backers!

 

We owe y'all a proper update, but you will have to wait another day or two for that,
unfortunately. The team has been so busy getting everything ready for launch, they've
neglected everything else, including food, personal hygiene...and Kickstarter updates.
We apologise, but we also think it'll be worth all the sacrifices. We hope you agree!

 

In the meantime, here's your chance to win a ticket to the Dreamfall Chapters Book
One launch party this coming Thursday!

 

If you live close to Oslo (or are able to travel to Oslo on very short notice) you need to

send an email to

 

party(at)redthreadgames.com

 

with the subject "I want to party!" and whether or not you'd like to bring a
friend/partner/accomplice. You must also provide us with your name and/or the email
address you used to back the project with, so that we can verify it.

 

We have a limited amount of slots available, unfortunately, so we will pick randomly
from your emails. If we get a lot of submission, we might prioritise from the higher tiers,
but we will strive to be fair & balanced!

 

Please note: unless you are absolutely certain you can make it to Oslo on Thursday,
October 16th, do NOT send us an email. We're sure many of you would like to attend,
but we need to set aside spots for those who can actually make it to (or already live in)
Oslo. And if we fill our guest-list with no-shows, the team will be very sad

 

We will announce the winners on Wednesday morning at 10 AM Oslo time (use a
timezone converter, we've been yelled at before for using the wrong abbreviations!).
You have until then to prepare your emails!

 

Good luck! We hope to see a bunch of you at the party this week!

I realize this may not be very important to have in the announcement section, but I'm still posting it, for continuity purposes.

The post was backers only, but they also tell the backers to provide RTG with name/mail address to verify backer status, so I don't think it will be too bad to publish it here.

Edit: also changed the @ in the mail address just in case it could create any sort of spam thingie somehow.

 

But RTG, if you want to delete it for some reason, then please do.

I'm sure I'm FAR from the only one wishing they didn't live in North America or other far-off areas right now. Curses! It's not even an issue of being last-minute or of scheduling for me; it's just distance and expense.

But even so, it's such a cool thing to have happen at all, and hopefully those who go have a lot of fun and we get photos from the event!

With you, Rinnerz. If I could afford a last minute flight to Oslo, I'd be emailing them in a heartbeat. Not so much, though.

For sure.  I checked, just for fun, and the cheapest flight from Washington DC to Oslo would be $1700. Yipes!

Daaaamn. It'd "only" be like $950 to fly out of Chicago, but that's still way out of my current budget.

By my calculations, a trip would cost me about 2500 NOK ($385) in total, which is only so low because I have free lodging in Oslo. It's still too expensive at the moment, as my budget is pretty tight.

The trick to solving lodging problems is to get so drunk you pass out under the desks. Works every time! Even when there are no desks, you somehow wake up underneath one.

I wouldn't mind a trip to the exact other side of the planet. However I don't think it's worth it since they'd kick me out the moment they realise that I'm not there for the party but just sit in front of a computer to play the game. So much for early release

Since there's no mention of free alcohol this time (kickstarter release party had that), getting "so drunk" may be more expensive than finding lodgings
