That was to be expected. But it's not really important to "get anywhere". If he manages to just elicit real interest in TLJ and stops just at the moment it gets REAL interesting, everything's perfect. He's playing around, he's investigating, that's what you do in TLJ.

The critical part is Fiona....

one to rule the steam machine outside :P

Back in the days there wasn't an in-game tutorial because you had to read about the controls on the printed manual, lol.

yeah, prologue is kinda the tutorial. The Original manual has a walk though for that part.

If he gets as far as the Fringe Café in the evening so we can hear Ragnar's voice, that would be enough. ;)

No, this game WASN'T at the time of the "peak of the adventure genre". Not at all. LucasArts was not doing so well. Grim Fandango had failed to attract a larger audience. The genre strongly slipped out of the industry.

That was the appeal though. The Longest Journey was maybe a swan song, maybe an hommage, maybe a rejuvenation, but still way AFTER that peak in the early nineties.

Yeah if anything TLJ was the swan song of the genre that proved there was still some life in it. The world had turned to 3D action games in a big way at that time. Anything else just didnt sell.

Fiora has stolen the ring as leverage.

This is kinda painful to watch. I'm like "JUST DO THAT, THEN THAT, AND THEN GO THERE, PICK UP THAT, TALK TO THAT PERSON, DO THAT AND THEN THAT." xD

..yeeeah, I'm one of those people. I'd rather just do it myself when I know what to do.

Still worth it just because of all the random comments, though. xD

..so no, V, it's not creepy. If I'd been home alone, I'd be screaming, too. :P

It's good that he got through it though. People should rather not get the "unsolvable" vibe.

I don't think he'll get THAT far in less than 40 minutes.
