I think we should rather get back to the food-situation. Today's dinner has so far consisted of half a bowl of potato chips and 3/4 of a pint of lager... Hoping to add a small piece of chocolate and another lager.

Personal note. If I ever visit RTG, remember to bring food, lots of it :)

Uh-oh! :o

That's brilliant, Happy Tree.  Did you make that?  Or is some part of RTG lore that I'm unfamiliar with?

I also appreciate what page he's working on...

One of the building's "cleaners" snapped it with a pinhole cam on his dungaree button. If you saw what else is in the RTG dossier your hair would stand on end :cannon: Well, something would, lol.

Making pulled pork is easy...you could probably have made it at home in the time it took to go to the store and hunt for the box stuff.   ;) I make pulled venison in the crockpot.  The recipe is the same except that I use venison instead of pork.  All you do is throw together meat, spices, ketchup, brown sugar and vinegar. Cook for 8 hours on low (or 4 hours on high) and you have a great meal.

Slow cookers are not standard kitchen appliances here, so you'd probably have to make it in the oven. There's just something in me that strongly says to never leave the house while the oven is on.

Yeah...that might be a problem then.  My crockpot is the one 'small' appliance that I use on a weekly basis...I think I use it more than I use the microwave!

You don't have slow cookers there? :o Heathens!

Seriously. It's a fall must. I love just throwing some stuff in a pot and knowing that when I come home from work, delicious food will be waiting.

Well, I mean, you can buy them. But I don't know of anyone who actually has one.

I believe our own Silje bought one not too long ago? But I think mostly Norwegians "living on the internet" (or the food trend people) are the ones who knows what it is.

But yeah, I think the stores here started to stock them quite recently. I never knew things like that excised until a few years ago, when I read about them online. I found a Norwegian article saying "will 2014 be the year of the slow cooker" and ".. aren't very known in Norway yet, but are common in America" (or something like that). I remember browsing for them online a while back but only found ones that cost around 1000 NOK, but when I checked now, I found one for just 400 ($61) and I'm seriously considering buying it. Will have to look up what I could use it for though :) The other two (in the same store) both costs around $190, btw.

I didn't even know these things existed   They seem to be quite cheap here in the UK! http://www.amazon.co...F8&node=3147641

I really need to look at this, looks interesting!

I did, I bought a Crock-Pot (3,5 liters) from Elkjøp :D

And yes, I know about it because I live on the Internet xD It's very handy even though I haven't used it much yet. Planning on making pulled pork or chicken soon :3

isn't a pressure cooker more practical than a slow cooker, though? wouldn't it do more or less the same thing but in a fraction of the time? or am I completely misunderstanding what a slow cooker does?  :)

I'd have thought the same myself. I haven't seen slow cookers here (hadn't even heard of them - had to look it up) but pressure cooking is used quite a lot, traditionally for bacon and cabbage :D And christmas pudding *drool*
