The pivotal moment of this game series for me is when Cortez gives April a choice, to "walk through the looking glass", or to turn back to her casual normal life. She is a bit wary, asks "What will happen if I say NO, NO WAY". And the simple way he says "What will happen? Something else."

That was the moment that had me HOOKED to the game for life. I cannot express how much that narrative choice meant to me. OF COURSE, as a player, I WANTED her to go do epic magical things. But the fact that she genuinely had a choice... ah, it touched me SO MUCH

For some reason.... (In TLJ)

The scene where you have to get into the control room where the guard sits (at the end of the game when you have to get to the robot-costume-space-thingies) And you put viagra/instant heat (OF ALL THINGS) in his coffie and heruns away becouse he gets so horny.

I wasnt expecting that at all when I played it the first time xD

Haha, I didn't get it. I was 11 when I played it, had never heard of viagra and thought he was going to be sick :D Thanks for making me aware of how much I may have missed. Have to play it again sometime, I guess...

For me, the best moment is also when April meets Cortez in the old cinema and finally the portal opens. I was so curious about Arcadia. And it was the moment, when the quest really began and April started to accept that there are magical things and that she might be part of it.

When April is inside that garbage container outside the police station and she says something hilarious about fur or a soft mitten or something.
I cant remember it, but I remember I laughed at that very much.

For me, it has to be the scene in Dreamfall when Kian and April meet. The one dialogue when Kian says "How can we be enemies when we have just met?" This summarizes what I think to be the most important point in Dreamfall. The rebels fight for freedom, the Azadi are not all evil, (if Kian can change I'm sure other Azadi can too), and most importantly, the war between Kian and April, between freedom and order, between people who hate each other who have never met one another, that speaks to the depth of this game. The character control going between Kian and April is also just right on cord as well. It just struck me in the right spot at the right time.

Exactly this, it was epic and quite tense...

One other I found interesting about DF and it was not in TJL, it's the whole prophecy thing about character that is so important and has so many names in all the cultures of the worldS...

It's interesting on one hand, but so common in the video game industries that I just prefer the anti-epic storytelling of dreamfall. (Where no one seem to understand what is zoe to begin with, so a true chaotic parameter)

On the possible return of April Ryan, I think it would better because it would way more impossible to predict the outcome.

My favourite moment ever in any game is the opening cutscene of Dreamfall with Brian in the monestary. It sets the sort of fairytale tone perfectly, with the writing, the music and the voice acting.

My favorite moment in the series is in DF when you first see April. Seeing that she has become this bad ass resistance fighter was so awesome and confusing especially considering her personality and reluctance to get involved in TLJ. The fact that the two games were released around seven years apart made the transition in her character seem so real and I was so curious and intrigued by what must have happened between the two games. I felt like I grew up and went through a lot in between the two games and it was cool that April changed and matured in that time as well.

It's really hard to pick just one moment. I like the beginning of TLJ a lot. Exploring Venice and Newport, talking to people, being in the fringe café and the art studio, all the little riddles and clues about something bigger to come. I was so amazed the first time I played the game! (which is almost 15 years ago now...) And I am still amazed!

But also Crow. Definitely April and Crows adventures together!! I love that crazy bird...

A Banda coming out of the jukebox in Fringe cafe, playing and dancing, then dramatically realizing he's in the wrong place. That was an incredible expression of the very epitome of being in the wrong place.

2nd shift - when April shifts in her unders in front of the Journeyman Inn.  The fire, the music and lighting, meeting Abnaxus and Benrime, the celebratory dancing ... it was at that moment when it hit me how friggin awesome the story is.  I mean, there were many times before I knew I was playing the best game and story ever, but that scene was the stuff my dreams are made of (if I possessed the ability to shape them that is, it would be like that -exactly like that).

Really really hard to pick just one favorite moment, they're really so many (every single scene with Crow in it, for example). Tobia's monologue before the Mural of the Balance (that someone else already mentioned) is one that could easily qualify for my all-time favorite moment, but I just thought of one other scene that hasn't been mentioneed yet:

April : Thanks for taking me on board.
The Dark People's Emissary : Who are you?
April : Uh, well, I thought you...I mean, didn't the old dragon...? Well, I'm April Ryan. From Stark. And I guess you're a, uh, Dark Person?
The Dark People's Emissary : But who are you?
April : I...I'm just a student. Not anybody special.
The Dark People's Emissary : You are special. Who are you?
April : I'm not...I'm just... (deep breath) I'm the Windbringer. I'm the Waterstiller. I'm April Bandu-embata of the Banda, and the Venar Kan-ang-la. I'm a Shifter. I will some day become the Thirteenth Guardian, protector of the Balance. And I'm April Ryan. This is who I am.
The Dark People's Emissary : Yes, that is who you are. And you are a Wave.
April : Why am I a...a wave?
The Dark People's Emissary : You have a purpose. You play an important part in the cosmos. A Wave is someone who propels people and events towards change, towards the future.
April : And...that's what I do?
The Dark People's Emissary : You are a Wave. There are ripples from your passing, and they spread far and wide. Those ripples will never die down. The worlds will be changed by your journey.
April : You're telling me that everything I do affects the universe?
The Dark People's Emissary : You can not escape it. You are a Wave.

I'll return (hopefully tomorrow) to post my favorite Dreamfall moment as well.

My favourite part was the prologue in TLJ. The painted background was so beautiful with the mountains towering like spires, the sorrow in the tree's voice was so moving, and then the magic begins...

I like this thread so much! Makes me want to play TLJ again right now! -Though I think I should wait until I've finished playing all the books in Chapters.

Anyway, if I have to choose just one moment, it'll have to be when April sets out on her journey to bring back the wind. More precisely, that moment when Crow catches up with her and tells her he'll go with her. "The beginning of a beautiful friendship" and so on, but also the beginning of a great adventure! That's the part that made me go from hooked to obsessed.

It's really difficult, isn't it? In tlj I loved moment with Vestrum Tobias and story of the balance (my mind was completely blown). And that moment in the end, Guardians Realm. This ending is so honest. You just get this feeling of devastation "The world saved. Okay. What now?" And music is very beautiful. Favourite puzzle - statues from Alatien island. I need to stop here.

DF. I liked part in the Border House because it was so creepy. To see Newport again was cool but depressing. Crossroads is another favorite. Two monologues in the beginning are very beautiful. And Faith's death too.

I think my favorite moment has to be finally reaching the Guardian's tower. The whole Guardian's Realm is very atmospheric, and the tower is just the perfect culmination for the entire story. In that quiet moment it hits you just how long the journey has actually been, and now the end is one step away.
