I reported that in the 3.2.8 and it is still there.

Shadow distance does not only affect shadows but the light in some places

Some examples nelas karl, the tables at chinese market, the carpets in the souk, the ecil olsen show(book1)

If shadow distance is 0 they are dark and if the shadow distance is low like 1m

they light up when zoe comes near.

To reproduce walk through propast with shadow distance 1m and

everywhere in propast lights go on in front of zoe.

or reduce shadow distance to 0 and compare it to 1-50.

edit: added screenshots with shadow distance 0 vs shadow distance 50

So, if I got this right, screenshot #1 is with Shadow Distance greater than or equal to 1 and screenshot #2 is with Shadow Distance equal to 0?

Anyway, turning off shadows should not affect whether the light is rendered or not, and we can't recreate the same thing by creating an empty scene, adding a shadow casting light and turning Shadow Distance to 0. The light is still rendering.

So I guess there might be something different with these Europolis lights that we have to look at.

Thanks for reporting :)

As I said I reported this in 3.2.8 and If I´m pretty sure that was the version that
introduced it. And Yes the screenshots with the light missing is shadow distance 0,
but as I said it also happens with low shadow distance, then these lights go on when Zoe comes near
and with high shadow distance it is very rarely seen at very far away lights.

I just really wanted to make sure you know about this and I´m glad you answered,
because low shadow distance gives me such a boost in fps that I´m able to play in awesome settings in full HD,
(which is in itself just awesome, I never before could do that) :)

Nice work with the screen caps. They really highlight the difference(s).

If at first you don't succeed, do it like your mother told you.
