Hi,

Just bought the game through steam. But when I wanted to start it after installing it, I got the error:

Failed to start game (missing executable).

When I look at the installation directory I see that no files were downloaded. (no logs are present for this problem either).

Found a topic on the forums about (the missing executables) but it does not mention anything about the files not being downloaded....

Any help is much appreciated.

Hey there, try this first:

Use the Steam game file verification tool (Right click DFC in Steam library -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache), and see if it reports any errors.

I see you're using Linux. Unless I'm mistaken, the Linux version is only 64-bit so far. Are you on a 32-bit system?

Yes I'm 32 bit.... :(

I will have to run it on Windows "sob"

I have been using steam, but the verification is marked as ok.

Yes, as Indrid Cold mentioned, the Linux executable is 64-bit only.

There is unfortunately no plan to create a 32-bit version for Linux, as this will produce far too many out-of-memory issues. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

You may be interested to know that the Windows build of Book One was reported to run well under wine for people with 32-bit Linux. I haven't heard anything about Book Two yet, but it should be the same.

Oh, yeah. That's quite interesting, indeed!

Should be able to run Book Two the same way then, I guess. Thanks!
