…TWO WEEKS!

:P

Is that an official Red Thread Games unit of time? ;)

:D

I look forward to Book 2 with anticipation. BoUT2 release is tomorrow, which will give us something to do in the meantime.

And it's for certain it won't be delayed? :P

Thank you!

I don't mind the extra wait myself (as long as everyone is still waiting :))

On that note, will it be available at March 10 for both steam and GOG/humble backers?

Or will GOG/humble have additional wait time like last time?

As far as I can tell from the announcement, "Steam, GOG and the Humble Store for Windows/Mac/Linux Tuesday March 10th", it's planned as a simultaneous release. It was the discovery of a game breaking bug just prior to release of Book 1 that caused the synchronization problems the there. Hopefully that won't happen again with this extended QA time.

Yeah. I'm hoping that the same day release thing will happen, since the game is done and it's down to testing at this point.

...That being said, it kind of relies on GOG and Humble to get it all up once RTG sends it along, and at least a few of the delays with patches and things have been on that end of things.

Has there been any news I've missed (or forgotten) regarding an early release for the backers in and above that tier? Is this still a thing?

They said on Twitter that, if it happens, it would be 24 hours early.

It actually kind of relies on RTG to send it on time, and "on time" is certainly neither two minutes before nor 16 hours after release.

They'll have to send in the final PS4 build somewhere between two and three WEEKS before release, mind you. :)

Not sure why these were not in the update themselves, but... new book 2 screenshots (spoilers):

Oh, I wasn't trying to imply that RTG had nothing to do with it. Bad phrasing on my part. It absolutely requires RTG to get the game in with time to spare. I was just pointing out that there were a few longer than expected delays on the GOG/Humble end of things when it came to patches and so such, so isn't entirely out of the question that a hiccup could happen after the game has been sent on RTG's end.

I don't know how much lead time GOG and Humble typically require, to be honest.

I think Ragnar now has some experience in this area, to estimate reasonable lead times. :P

Also, most likely — if it happens — Steam only. There's no easy way to enable early access to anything via Humble or GOG, and we don't control when versions go live on GOG/Humble. Steam is a lot more accessible to us.

We included screenshots in all of our press packages. Not sure why anyone else hasn't posted them yet. We plan to make 'em all available to backers tomorrow. We wanted to give press a chance to post them first and to write stories around them — it's part of how we encourage press coverage. We're also slowly distributing them via Twitter & Facebook.

But, yeah, they'll all be up and linked in another Kickstarter update tomorrow.

I'm happy with the date.

I rather wait for the release than having an early release and have to wait for a patch.

Holy sshh-- aren't those screenshot a bit too spoilery? :P

I didn't think the screenshots were particularily spoilery. There's nothing overly surprising going on there, as far as I can see.

"Too spoilery" is kind of a subjective term. ...I wouldn't be surprised if they're mostly stills from the Trailer we're getting next week, though, so...

I think it should probably go mostly without saying that if you're concerned about spoilers, you should probably avoid anything marked as having screen shots from the game, pre-release.

Still...for anyone still unsure... above links may be too spoiler-y for some viewers.

Congrats on moving forward with your creation, and thank-you for keeping us in the loop.

That makes me about 1/4 closer to being able to play the game in its entirety! (Not sarcasm. That genuinely pleases me.)
