Cool :D

So let's translate those runes

FT181mR.png

Different runes, "old", younger and medival. Looks like "Ældre runer (old runes) is the one used).

My attempt:

But if it's older Norse, it should be "stain" for "stone", not "stein". So if they made the mistake of assuming they wrote the old form, and reused the letters for the second word which is now "klege", but should perhaps be "klage"? Did that make sense at all?

Yes and no. Weird if they got a rune wrong in the first word, then only use it wrong in one of two letters in the next.

And if you're right then we have word/stone nr two, but what is stain, is it some weird dialect from the fjords?

I'll stand behind "stein" (as long as the s and i are correct, those were the "take the closest-looking runes mrKnask" runes for me).

But I agree, second word sounds much more correct as "klage" so the only thing is that they mixed up an a-rune with an m-rune.

If we're right (mixed between us) we'll get "stein", "klage" and "blod", all words in norwegian. Stone, complain and blood in english.

But what do I know, I've had a couple of beers and feel kinda tipsy ;)

(Btw, I hope that "riddle" is a placeholder, would suck to have started solving it way before the game is out... :P)

Edit: and if RTG fucked up some runes I'm sure they won't next time :P

Regarding "stain":

"Nis solu sot uk ni sakse stain skorin" (ikke er av sol søkt, og ikke med kniv steinen skåren) (Eggjum-steinen i Sogn år 700)

So "stain" for "stone" isn't to far-fetched. ;)

Yeah. Which is why I suspect they may have goofed on the runes. ;) If our interpretation is right. But if it is, the words come from a strange mixture of time periods... Doesn't really fit either way.

Second: klege (probably totally off, at least I don't know the word "klege...)

It looks a bit more like "klede" to me (check this version, with more resolution than the one I posted above). Is that a word in Norwegian...?

Yeah, that would make it stone - cloth - blood, I guess. Which makes more sense and doesn't involve mixing and matching (and mismatching).

Yeah, there we have it :) Klede means clothing.

Ooo... In the bigger one you can read his notes... ...The one with the bird is uh... Amusing now, but I can see it being creepy in context.

And those items all sound like things that could be involved in some sort of ritual or rite. Which seems fitting.

Those items could be used for some kind of adventure game puzzle. Wouldn't that be great. :P

It'll be odd if we have another Crow in the game...

Yeah, that's more or less what I was thinking. I'm really interested in seeing more about the mechanics in this game.

And hey, now. It's a magpie. Totally different. :P

You know...if Crow is talking to everyone for the same reasons this as-of-yet-unnamed magpie is apparently "talking" to Edward, that sort of paints a lot of things in a very different light.

...I suppose the reverse would also be true.

From the social medias

Draugen is on GameSpot's list of the top seven horror games coming in 2016!

(Of course, Draugen is also a psychological survival game, and we have a lot more to reveal about the game mechanics, story and setting.)

(Draugen bit starts at ~2:17)
