@DraugenGame: The first glimpse of the #Draugen trailer, which debuts at @EGX_Rezzed this weekend & arrives everywhere March 31st: (link to picture below) (x)

Facebook:

Here it is: a sneak peek at what's in store for Monday, March 31st, when we unleash the first two-and-a-half minute Draugen trailer.

This is an in-game screenshot, taken from one of Draugen's moody landscapes, during the first day of protagonist Edward's weeklong stay in the village of Graavik.

A couple of tweets from @DraugenGame last night:

(1)
Let us probe the silent places, let us seek what luck betide us;

Let us journey to a lonely land I know.

(2)
There's a whisper on the night-wind, there's a star agleam to guide us,

And the Wild is calling, calling... let us go.

They must be in a very advanced point of the development of DFC in order to release a trailer for Draugen so soon... I don't know if I'll play this either because I don't have a good relationship with horror games (I just like watching them), but sure I may as well give it a try. I'm very curious to see the trailer because I want to see if there's been some influence from TLJ or DF in the new game  :evilwonk:

Separate teams for DFC and Draugen, as far as I know? Spy-Tina, can you confirm?

I’m sure some of you are wondering how this will affect the development of Dreamfall Chapters.

The simple answer is: it won’t.

The slightly more complicated answer is that this will benefit Dreamfall Chapters.

We've been thinking about starting up a second project for a while, and with this generous grant from NFI that's finally possible. We’re building a completely new team to work on Draugen: no one currently working on Dreamfall Chapters will be affected. Since both titles are being developed using the Unity engine, however, the tools, technology and knowhow will be shared between the teams, benefitting everyone.

Our primary focus is and will continue to be Dreamfall Chapters.

They did say that about separate teams, but afaik they haven't hired anyone new yet. It may be the case that they will (or already has) hire(d) someone extra to work on Draugen though, as they have done with Blink studios (Christer Sveen etc) for Chapters. Like, project based contract instead of "RTG employee" contract.

I'm also thinking that they wanted to take advantage of the publicity of Rezzed and announce Draugen more properly. I remember Ragnar hinting about a Draugen kickstarter on twitter, so it may just be the kind of trailer that we got for Chapters during the kickstarter. Like a trailer with early prototype stuff, to build up hype etc :)

So it was confirmed in today's Rezzed developer session that Draugen will be on Kickstarter. I'm sure I'll back it with a lot even though I'll never be able to play it, haha.

Will be interesting to see what goal they decide to set. There has been some backlash for Kickstarter with Oculus-gate and it's just not as new and exciting anymore. But Draugen looks good and has a unique setting from well respected developers.

Same here. I most likely will TRY to play it but I'll reserve my judgement for when I actually see more. So far, the trailer itself scared me with it's gloomy atmosphere. They said it is "Gone Home meets Amnesia"-- hopefully it'll be more Gone Home than Amnesia for my taste :D

Very nice trailer, very moody and the art direction is gorgeous.

More than Gone Home I feel a Dear Esther vibe (wich I loveeeee).

Honestly Red Thread + Horror game is a match mad ein heaven for me.

To be honest, the trailer didn't convince me. The kickstarter needs more kraft than that to be successful, I'm afraid.

I'm glad they said that Draugen won't rely heavily on jump-scares.  That greatly increases the odds of me playing and enjoying it. :)

The trailer didn't do much for me either besides "Oooh, shiny!" xD I loved the look of it, and I'm sure the game will be a good one anyway, so I'm gonna back it on Kickstarter if I can afford it! I've been convinced a long time ago, really :D

Two articles about Draugen. One old and one new. Unfortunately in norwegian but google translate might help.

The old one including an interview with Ragnar:

And the new one:

http://www.pressfire...-de-lettskremte

Edit: Adding an "old" video interview with Ragnar about Draugen on Level Up. Unfortunately also only in norwegian. It starts about 2:15 in the video and last almost 10 min..
